YELLOW FEVER WORKSHOP

The “Yellow Fever Workshop (pre-conference activity associated with the Biennial Conference of the Asia Pacific Travel Health Conference)” activity, has been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and has been approved for up to 3 CME credits for the General Practice Educational Programme (GPEP) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes.
This 3 hour workshop is primarily designed to meet the re-accreditation needs of authorised Yellow Fever vaccinators, however anyone with an interest can enroll. The workshop with cover updates in the current epidemiology of yellow fever including recent outbreaks, International Health Regulations, yellow fever vaccination adverse events (including contraindications and precautions to vaccination) and completing and issuing International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis and Exemption Certificates. Challenging cases will be presented and discussed with audience participation expected. The session will conclude with a short written examination.

The Nursing Professional Group of ISTM is on the frontline as travel Medicine practice expands worldwide. This group aims to provide leadership on all aspects of travel health in the global nursing community. We provide support to ISTM nurse members and take a strategic lead in the professional development of nursing practice in travel health medicine.
Current and new nurse members of ISTM automatically become members of the NPG.
The NPG is happy to be presenting a workshop entitled ‘Destination Oceania’ on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 14:00-17:00 commencing after the CTH exam. Please join us and extend your knowledge of common destinations people travel to in the Pacific, emerging and re-emerging disease outbreaks, vaccine preventable diseases, mosquito borne disease, risks involved in cruise travel ,and participate in a few interactive case studies to enhance what we have learned. Directly after the workshop from 17:00-18:00 you are invited to stay for a time of light refreshments!
ISTM TRAVEL FOR WORK INTEREST GROUP (TFW) MEETING

The ISTM Travel For Work Interest Group (TFW) will be having a meeting for all TFW members on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 16:00-18:00 (location TBD) in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Regional Conference.
Our main focus of the meeting will be to discuss and gather members input regarding fit to travel for work assessments. The TFW council members have created a draft framework document geared toward assisting occupational medicine clinicians and and travel health specialists decide which components of an assessment should be recommended and/or considered for employees based on length of travel and access to medical care.
